Hi.

I'm Brian Yu. Welcome to my personal page. This page is a living history of some of the stories I want to tell, of the projects I worked on (as an undergraduate student), and anything else I want to share with the world.

During the training period for many physicians and physicians-to-be, time robs them of many things. Based loosely on my grandmother, A Clocked Stopped tells the story of the feeling of loss of time missed with loved ones. This story is set to be published in Anastomosis, Stanford Medicine's literary journal.

History is cyclic. In Civilization, I've combined the perpetual nature of the rise and fall of empires with what it means to be human in a short science fiction story. I borrow heavily from The Worthing Saga from Orson Scott Card, in particular his invention of Somec, a drug that prevents aging.

Sleep is a short story situated somewhere in a fantastical Middle Eastern land, inundated with Genies and magical objects. The title and subject of the story is inspired by the feeling of exhaustion that accompanies a long day's of work.

Other short stories available upon request.
